About the Founder
John Morgan Risner is a screenwriter, novelist, and film historian, as well as the founder of Screen Writer Ink. With over a decade of experience teaching writing and filmmaking at the university level, he has worked with students and writers at all stages of development, helping them refine their storytelling skills and understand the deeper mechanics of character, structure, and cinematic narrative.
As a working writer, his projects span multiple genres, including thriller, horror, and mystery, with a focus on character-driven storytelling. His work includes the feature film Out of Frame and multiple fiction and non-fiction writing projects.
Through Screen Writer Ink, his goal is to provide writers with practical, experience-based insight into the craft of storytelling—bridging the gap between theory and execution.
